Forest Glen PTA: May News

Our hearts are very heavy this week upon hearing the news of the loss of one of our devoted Forest Glen parents, Angela Phillips.  Our thoughts are with her family, especially her two children that attend our school.  For information on how you can support this wonderful family, please see below in "updates".

Thank you to everyone that came out to the Urban Counter on Thursday for Restaurant Night.  They are contributing 25% of ALL the sales they made that day back to our PTA.  Huge thanks to Lindsey and Rachelle that have knocked our Restaurant Nights out of the park this year!  There are a couple more to go before school lets out, so be on the look-out for those dates and info via backpack mail.

Yearbooks were distributed this past week.  Thank you to Candi Arnold and Heather Ebl and their entire committee for their year long dedication to this project.  They look fantastic!

Reminder, next week we will have our last General PTA meeting of the year at 3:40pm.  Immediately following, all parents & past and current students are invited to a gathering in the gym to say their goodbyes to our retiring teachers - Mrs. Carrapella, Mrs. Burshiem, and Mrs. Kreitzer.  If you have any questions, please let us know.

As always - We Are One!

PTA Updates

With heavy hearts and sadness

We are deeply saddened that two Forest Glen students lost their beloved mother last Sunday, following a battle with ALS. Mom to Aubrey (Kindergarten) and Zach (2nd grade), Angela Phillips was a former Head Room Parent and active PTA member. Aside from this, she was just a lovely, caring and wonderful person.  Many have inquired about helping the family. You can do so in 2 ways:

1) Donations: CLICK HERE
A fund has been set-up to help the children as they transition through this difficult time. First and foremost, they are hopeful to generate some "summer fun" as they navigate the coming months.

2) Meals:  CLICK HERE
A meal train was created for the Phillips family throughout Angela's illness and is continuing on. Meals can be dropped off in a cooler outside the house-or simply ordered through Meal Village delivery service.

Friday Night Live DVDs went home on Friday, May 13th via backpack mail. The PTA has 10 more FNL DVDs left.  If you would like to purchase a copy, please contact Tiffaney Lentini at

5th Grade Q&A
Tuesday, May 24th, 5:00 - 6:00 pm, in the Forest Glen Library.  Fifth graders are invited to meet in the library immediately following the reception for retiring teachers, for a Q&A session with current 6th graders at Hadley.   CLICK HERE for the flyer for details.  Pizza and a sweet treat will be served!  Don't miss this opportunity to have all your questions answered!  Many thanks to our faculty sponsor, Mr. Caspers, for helping make this very popular event a success.
